Researchers have discovered the genetic code of two of the most common types of cancers, skin and lung. So now they understand what genetic mutations are the cause for cancer and which ones are harmless. This is absolutely extraordinary. Now we may be able to produce medicines to combat these specific mutations of the gene rather than the rather relatively crude methods we have now.
Scientists from all over the world are also currently looking at the genetic codes of other common cancers.
I think we all know what the response to this should be. Awesome. Of course, we’d still need to make those drugs, and I have no idea exactly how hard that would be.
